This spider is known as the 'mother care' spider. It is called this because the adult female will stay with her young who will feed on the food she catches and sometimes even from her mouth. The female will carry the bluish boulder-like egg sac around with her. This species builds a tangle-web amongst the leaves of bushes and will hide in a debris covered retreat near the middle of the web.
